Our first day in Frankfurt

The weather was just perfect, not too hot and not too cold. During the day, it was around 20°C, while the evening cooled down to a comfortable 17–18°C. Perfect weather for walking around and exploring the city.
We arrived in Frankfurt quite late in the afternoon, so we decided not to rush and simply spend our first evening exploring the city at a relaxed pace.
We started at Römerberg, the beautiful historic square in Frankfurt’s Old Town, surrounded by its charming traditional German-style buildings. From there, we walked to Frankfurt Cathedral before continuing towards Eiserner Steg, the famous iron footbridge crossing the Main River.
Since it was Saturday, Römerberg became especially lively in the evening. Lots of young people were out enjoying the weekend: meeting friends, having dinner, drinking, and hanging out around the Old Town. 🍻
And of course, it was our first day in Germany... so trying a German beer was a must! 😆
We stopped at Alten Limpurg, where we had the chance to try a local draft beer. It was really good! Drinking a cold German beer while sitting outside in the cool evening weather somehow felt just right. And surprisingly, after a glass of beer, the chilly weather didn’t feel quite so chilly anymore. 😂🍺
There wasn’t a long list of things to do on our first day, just walking around, enjoying the architecture, watching the city come alive on a Saturday night, and having a good German beer.
Sometimes, starting a trip slowly without rushing from one attraction to another is the best way to get your first feeling of a new city. ❤️
